Our Ten Committees
Carolina For The Kids could not be successful without the help of all of our committee members. Each year, we have approximately 300 committee members devote countless hours to help each of our 10 committees with various tasks. The Carolina For The Kids structure includes the 15 members of the Executive Board, subchairs, and committee members. In addition to the chair, each committee has between 2-4 subchairs and 10-30 committee members. Brief descriptions of the 10 committees are given below.
If you are interested in learning more about a certain committee, feel free to reach out to the chair of that committee! All chairs and their emails are listed under our executive board page! We can't wait to hear from you! |
Campus Fundraising
The Campus Fundraising committee focuses on developing our organization-wide fundraising efforts both on and off-campus. They are responsible for the development of new avenues for dancer fundraising through larger-scale events. They will also coordinate canning efforts for on-campus venues which include offering training sessions in Carolina For The Kids promotional communication. Campus Fundraising will also be responsible for communicating with athletic teams and officials. Additionally, they spearhead the planning and design of the One Day and One Weekend campaigns and any other chosen fundraising pushes.
Community Relations
The Community Relations Committee serves as a liaison between CFTK and the surrounding community including local schools, external organizations, Greek organizations, and alumni. The committee also seeks to engage the community through participation in local school fundraisers and high school Dance Marathons.
Creative Media
The Creative Media Committee is responsible for creating all organizational and promotional graphics. They are responsible for creating and editing all photo and video content. Additionally, they are accountable for all organizational merchandise designs and orders.
Entertainment
The Entertainment Committee is responsible for securing both on- and off-campus performers for all 12 hours of the Marathon. They create the minute-by-minute schedule for the Marathon and are responsible for coming up with new and exciting activities, competitions, and games for the marathon. They also lead the planning of Formal and Committee Appreciation events.
Formal Affairs
The Formal Affairs Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of the annual Carolina For The Kids Foundation Benefit Reception. The committee is responsible for hosting and staffing this event as well as procuring all items for the auctions by visiting and establishing relationships with businesses. This committee is also responsible for soliciting all event donations. Formal Affairs will coordinate with the Entertainment committee to assist in the planning and execution of Committee Appreciation.
Hospital and Family Relations
The Hospital and Family Relations Committee concentrates on expanding and solidifying the relationships with UNC Children's, the patients and families of the hospital, and the organization. The Hospital & Family Relations committee is involved in building relations with families, doctors, nurses, and hospital administration, as well as planning ways for committee members to engage with patients and families through the Pediatric Playroom, Parent's Night Out, Ronald McDonald House, and other events.
Morale and Recruitment
The Morale & Recruitment Committee is responsible for recruiting dancers and volunteers to participate in the Marathon, as well as boosting morale at the UNC Dance Marathon. Morale & Recruitment focuses on keeping dancers engaged throughout the year leading up to the Marathon and serving as dancer team captains.
