Welcome back Tar Heels! Those of us here at Carolina For The Kids Foundation are super excited to start this year with you. Carolina FTK is the largest student-run philanthropy in North Carolina, working year-round to raise money to support the patients and families of UNC Children’s.
We’ve got a lot of exciting events coming up this semester, so read on to learn what we have up our sleeves!
Kilometers For The Kids
Lace up your sneakers and stretch out those hamstrings because it’s time for the fourth annual Kilometers For The Kids race. Join us on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. for a special New Student and Carolina Parent Programs Family Weekend event. For more information, visit carolinaftk.org/race.
Committee Recruitment Week
Do YOU want to get involved with one of Carolina’s favorite traditions? We’ll be in the Pit Sept. 1-4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to tell you all about how to join one of our 14 diverse committees. There is room for everyone in this organization, so stop by and let us know what you’re passionate about! Read more about all of our committees at carolinaftk.org/committees.
Theme Reveal
We’re ready to let you all in on a big secret… the theme for the 2016 UNC Dance Marathon. But you’re going to have to join us at The Strowd on Sept. 17 to find out. Past themes have ranged from “Once Upon a Time” to “Dare to Discover.” Any guesses on what this year’s theme is?
Dancer Recruitment Week
This is it! October 5-10 is your chance to sign up for the 18th annual UNC Dance Marathon. Every year, around 2,000 Carolina students pledge to stand for 24 hours in support of the patients and families of UNC Children’s. Visit us in the Pit all week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn more about our involvement at North Carolina Children’s Hospital and how the Marathon will be the best 24 hours of your life. Visit carolinaftk.org/dancers for more information.
For(mal) The Kids
For the first time this year, CFTK will be hosting a semi-formal event. Join us on Nov. 5 at Top of the Hill for a fun-filled evening to kick off homecoming weekend. Stay tuned for more information!
