1. What are the responsibilities of the Hospital & Family Relations committee?
We develop and maintain a relationship with our Kid Co-Captains and their families. I’ve had the same KCC family for the past three-years and I have an awesome relationship with his family. It’s cool that our committee gets to interact more with the families than other committes. We get to know thempersonally and see the effects of our fundraising efforts.
What’s your favorite memory with your KCC?
That’s a really hard question. My KCC and I actually live 15 minutes away in our hometowns. I think my favorite thing I’ve done with him is going to his birthday party last year. We went bowling and I was on his team. It was a really cute and fun moment to hang out with him.
What do you think the KCC program means to CFTK and the families?
I think it’s really important for the organization to see the families that we affect. I met Andrew when he was 3 and saw him going through treatment and now he’s 6 years old. For the families, it’s important for them to see a big group of students who truly care about this cause and truly care about them. Fostering this relationship increases morale for CFTK and the families we serve.
