Profile: Before and After the Marathon

4/1/2016

Picture
Brighton McConnell is a first-year dancer here at the Marathon. We've pulled him aside to talk about his experience before and after the Marathon.

Are you excited for your first ever Dance Marathon?

I am excited. I'm intrigued to see how the night goes and all the different activities that we'll be doing, and really just if I'll be able to make it or not through the whole thing.

Is there anything in particular that you're looking forward to?

I think sunrise at Kenan Stadium will be really nice because it'll just be great to get out of the gym for a little bit, and it'll be nice to just kind of like be out there as the morning begins.  I guess it's sort of the halfway point in some ways for the night, so that'll be a good benchmark.

Food will also be a nice break from everything too. I'm excited for the six meals.

Are you worried about anything to get through?

I've got some homework to finish, but really I just hope that I smell alright by the end of the evening.

What gear did you bring to prepare?

I brought like four shirts and two different pairs of shorts just to be safe. With that and a couple pairs of shoes and socks I think I should be okay. I hope that I'm good to go.
