It may seem like a long-shot to raise $60,000 in 24 hours — but for the dancers and executive members of Carolina For The Kids, it’s a crucial part of their yearly fundraising efforts for UNC Children's Hospitals.

Starting Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., CFTK kicks off its 60k in One Day campaign, which includes fundraising over social media, sales in the Pit and benefit nights at local businesses.

The dance routines, posters and brightly colored tutus of recruitment for the UNC Dance Marathon aren't gone yet — this year, Carolina for the Kids is adding a second round of publicity for its annual event and taking it digital.

The fundraising initiative, which takes place in March, has become a UNC tradition that involves campus dance teams and a cappella groups, while also raising money for the UNC Children’s Hospital.

Leaders of Carolina for the Kids, the UNC-Chapel Hill student organization that puts on the Dance Marathon fundraiser to benefit UNC Children’s Hospital, said they are moving the party online in accordance with UNC’s efforts to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, and they want people to participate any way they can.
